How VPS Hosting Improves Automated Trading Bot Uptime

An Expert Advisor only trades while the MT5 terminal it's attached to is running and connected. Running that terminal on a home PC means the strategy stops the moment the computer sleeps, the OS pushes an update and reboots, the household internet drops, or there's a power cut — none of which check whether a trade happens to be open at the time.
A Virtual Private Server (VPS) is a always-on remote machine, typically located in or very near a major data center, that runs the MT5 terminal continuously regardless of what's happening on the trader's own computer or internet connection. The trader connects to it remotely to check on or configure the bot, but the bot itself keeps running whether or not anyone is connected at all.
Beyond simple uptime, VPS hosting located close to a broker's trade servers also reduces network latency — the round-trip time between an order being sent and a fill confirmation coming back. For strategies sensitive to execution speed, particularly anything trading frequently or targeting tight, fast-moving setups, shaving tens or hundreds of milliseconds off that round trip is a real, measurable edge, not a cosmetic one.
This is precisely the gap a managed deployment platform is built to close: instead of a trader manually renting, configuring, and maintaining a VPS, installing MT5, copying over an EA, and monitoring that it's still connected days later, the whole workspace is provisioned and kept running as a service — the same reliability benefit, without needing to become a part-time systems administrator to get it.
